Each Year the Ponderosa Lions and local VFW group get together and conduct Flag Day at our 2 local schools: Auberry Elementary and Sierra Elementary. It's a chance to teach the kids about the ceremonial aspects of the Flag and Flag Day. It also gives them a chance to ask questions about the flag, being veterans, and other things they might not ordinarily have the opportunity to ask. It is an enlightening and inspiring day for all involved.
